The van Looy’s

Kiss van Looy & her group

Erindi Private Game Reserve, August 2022

When talking about Namibia and Erindi in particular, I can only talk in superlatives. What an amazing experience this has been for our small group of 5 from Belgium. We arrived at Erindi already on a high from our days at Etosha and Erindi (and Carel especially) managed to even exceed our expectations.
We had the pleasure of doing 2 evening drives with Carel and in those few hours, we learned more from him about the animals and their life than in the 3 weeks before. He enthusiastically tackled all our questions and kept on driving and searching to find the animals we wanted to see most. We will remember Carel as the Lion King :-)

On our first drive, he gave us a very up close and personal experience with 3 lions, 2 of which were busy mating. The next evening we checked in on them again, but this time they were quick to give us the boot... they did not want any onlookers, so we moved on and had a lovely meeting with some curious elephants and experienced a magical moment with a cheetah and 3 elephants. To top off the evening we had an encounter with a spraying rhino (a true highlight according to one of my fellow travellers... he's still showing a video of that to everyone he meets...)

We were all so happy and content and ready to go back to the lodge for dinner... and then... as the cherry on the cake... a couple of Caracal cats happened to walk out on the road in front of us... how lucky could we be...

Thank you Carel and thank you Erindi!
